Social Mith as Subject of Sociological Analysis: Theoretical Aspects

Abstract

The problem of social myth research as a sociocultural phenomenon is considered by a study of the major theoretical areas of myth sociology. This paper analyzes the strengths and weakness of the theoretical areas of myth sociology, outlined recommendations for further research. The author notes the negative impact of various traditions perception of myth on the result of study. Hence the necessity of a critical rethinking of the classical works on the abovementioned issues and develops an integrated approach.
