Together with the development of itinerancy, its acquirement of more organized forms, the most developed, massive of which is tourism, the necessity to be philosophically comprehended is getting more and more actual. The existential status of the modern personality – man-wanderer (homo viator) is reviewed within this research, as well as the collisions and contradictions of its existentially-personal renewal are shown. The last one occurs in an attempt “to broaden the outlook” of the own being, overstepping the boundaries of what is well-known into another dimension, which is intended to satisfy the urgent human need of the communicative renewal, at the same time opening new and new horizons of “the semi essential homo”. On this way a man-wanderer is expected to face a number of problems, at least because the way itself has a number of directions-branches, and according to what is going to be chosen it depends whether the expected personality renewal is going to happen, or whether the wanderer is doomed to pass over this way again and again, until he won’t find his unique personal way. The perspectives of the further research works on tourism philosophy are about the philosophically-anthropological analysis of the wander-journey lasting the whole human life, which analyses the spiritual search of the modern personality.
