Analysis of the Theoretical Approaches to the Study of the Phenomenon of Identity in Social and Humanitarian Disciplines

Need to analyze the theoretical approaches to the study of the phenomenon of
identity due to an increasing number of empirical studies on this subject. Being first undertaken in psychology, the term «identity» gradually came to the scientific sociology, cultural studies and other sciences. Growing attention of
sociologists to the study of identity leads to a new view of theoretical approaches to the study of this concept. Depending on the scientific approach, identity has a different meaning, structure and mechanisms. So and methods of its study will be different every time.
